Seems like the epitome of capitalism. Anti-prostitution is anti-capitalism.

Ask this question after you have personally known and talked to several victims of human trafficking.
Also look into how gangs, and others use tattoo's to show they own women.

Despite beliefs that legalizing it would cut down on human trafficking, that is wrong... because now it will become easier for the Cartel or other organizations to own women and push them into prostitution.
When you truly understand how conditioning works on a victim, they get conditioned so well they don't even think of themselves as being forced into it anymore.
When someone would literally walk into a government office and get a license to practice and convince anyone they want to do it willingly, despite being a human sex trafficking victim, how do you handle that?
https://humantraffickinghotline.org/en/human-trafficking/myths-facts
Reality: That is sometimes the case. More often, however, people in trafficking situations stay for reasons that are more complicated. Some lack the basic necessities to physically get out - such as transportation or a safe place to live. Some are afraid for their safety. Some have been so effectively manipulated that they do not identify at that point as being under the control of another person.
Now I ask, would anyone want to hire a prostitute that did not want to be doing it, or would they simply not care how they got into that situation, after all it isn't their problem they just want some sex?
I do realize this is more of a USA issue, with the cartel having such a huge presence here, when gang members hang around Tribal lands to kidnap or coerce young girls/women to make sex slaves, as the vast majority of sex slaves in the US are estimated to be Native as well as many African American women.
In other countries Europe and such, it doesn't seem to be such a problem.
If we could only secure our borders and keep the cartel out and put a stop to human trafficking first, then maybe it could be made legal. Until such time, even one victim being pushed into prostitution that men pay to have sex with who doesn't want to be doing it, is reason enough to keep it illegal.
I had a best friend who was taken into sex trafficking and I was nearly taken with her, only I barely got away... and suffered survivors guilt.
I have personally known several sex trafficking (human trafficking) victims. Get their point of view on if it should be legalized first and see what they have to say about it.
Prostitution is prohibited in the United States because it is viewed as a shameful and exploitative practice that goes against many moral and religious beliefs. Besides, it has been linked to various social problems such as the spread of sexually transmitted diseases and human trafficking. To prevent these negative consequences, the government has criminalised prostitution and put measures in place to discourage its practice. Despite this, some states have legalised or decriminalised it, creating a lot of debate and controversy around the issue.
Although i think it should be legal for a few reasons: Legalising prostitution supports the safety and well-being of sex workers. By bringing the industry out of the shadows, we can provide legal protections and medical care, greatly reducing the risk of violence and exploitation. Not only that, but it also slashes human trafficking by meeting the demand for sex workers through legal channels and generates significant tax revenue for public services and social programs. Most importantly, it's about personal freedom - people should have the right to make their own choices about their own bodies and livelihoods without fear of criminalisation. Decriminalising prostitution also means decriminalizing other consensual sexual activities between adults, such as BDSM and other forms of sex work, ensuring that consenting adults can explore their sexuality without legal repercussions.
Sexually transmitted diseases are less likely to come from a sex worker. I know it's a popular belief that sex workers give STDs, but it's false. You are more likely to get an STD from a boyfriend or girlfriend because of cheating. They cheat and keep it a secret from their partner, and then once they contract an STD they pass it on to their partner.
Just think about it. If you were a sex worker, would you allow every single guy to raw dog you? And the brothel owners will conduct bi-weekly test because he doesn't want to lose business. And prostitutes use female condoms too. They are more cautious, and it's their job; they are not going to be so passionate about sleeping with a guy who is paying for them. They don't want to end up taking pills because of that. They will get fired and have no source of income anymore.
But the other stuff I don't know that much about because I don't pay for it.
I am all for my state of West Virginia to DLP all of it, the sooner the better. People do it anyhow. And I want West Virginia to be a sex tourism hot spot. That would mean a lot more girls would have to move here. I am also of the view that my state should match the age rate for starting prostitutes, which is 16. The first prostitute I had sex with, about 40 years ago, was 16. She lured me in, by going out with me on the first date, not a lot happened that night, the next time I went out with her, she just came out and said you want to fuck me don't you? I said yes, because she was built good and she did things to lure me in, and I was boning hard for her. Anyhow, she wanted to know what I had in my pocket, it was like a hundred bucks, she said give it to me, I did and then she let me fuck her. I have been visiting prostitutes since then where I live, but it could be so much more with full DLP etc.
That does come from the Christian founding of our nation. We were founded as a Christian nation. The founders wanted freedom of religion because they knew of other religions (back then the founders called Muslims as Mohammidan) there was also major resentment between the Catholic and proletarian churches the founders didn’t want religious violence so they never set up a state religion.
now as a conservative agnostic this is where my libertarian capitalist hat is on as far as I’m concerned prostitution, it should be legal it should be the last choice for women but they shouldn’t be put in jail for selling there bodies. We had brothels throughout the 1800s. Why not now? Only reason is STDS but the simple solution is make sure the prostitutes are tested once a week or something like that.
“Prostitution”, as most people understand it, is actually legal in all 50 states. Consenting adults are legally permitted to create agreements where one party pays the other for sex AND other activities, like going to dinner, the movies, vacations, etc.
What’s NOT legal is an agreement where one person pays money to the other ONLY for sex or other types of physical interaction..
This makes perfect sense, because most women who sell their bodies only for sex, are in all likelihood, being exploited and face a very rough life/death.

Prostitution is illegal because it is often associated with various consequences such as exploitation and human trafficking, spread of sexually transmitted diseases, and degradation of women. People who engage in prostitution are often vulnerable and can be subject to abuse, violence, and coercion. For example, many prostitutes are forced into the industry by pimps, while others do it because they have no other means of making money. Additionally, prostitution is often linked to drug use and addiction, which can lead to a vicious cycle of exploitation and dependency. Governments have implemented laws to protect individuals from exploitation, limit the spread of sexually transmitted diseases, and deter criminal activity associated with the sex industry. In short, prostitution is illegal to protect those who are most vulnerable and to maintain social order.
A+ answer. 👌
It isn't in a number of countries for example Australia.
The simple fact is no country has been able to eliminate prostitution by making it illegal.
From a guy view it is quick, convenient and nice novel experience to be able to pick the girl you most want to have sex with at a brothel.
From a girl view, it is a way to make quite good money.
There are no victims.
Prostitution was made illegal with the establishment of monogamy, the objective was to prevent men from obtaining easy sex by paying, in order to force them to marry to have sex in marriage, that is also why it was promoted that women not give sex to Men before marriage.
it's only illegal here man. it's legal in many countries. thirsty johns are willing to pay to see cleavage in america for top dollar. it's sad really. but my phone is blowing up with prostitutes that advertise on tinder or bumble now. i guess you have to know where to look?
It's mostly sex slavery. Most of them women do not choose to do this, and are either addicted, coerced, or kidnapped.
Many of them are from different countries and were smuggeled by human traffickers under the guise of another work opportunity which never existed, and were kidnapped. They usually tell them they will kill them and their family if they try to escape.
Taxes. Because prostitution, much like hush money payments to a porn star, are "dirty money", they don't have to claim it but if they don't, the irs will come after them. But, at the same time, if they do claim it, it's still dirty money, and the irs will STILL come after them. It's just more likely they will if they DO claim it, since it's then trackable.
But if you don't claim it, you're now enriching yourself, through DIRTY MONEY
I don't know either, it kinda seems like a waste of time. I used to expect at some point that it would become like pornography and be legal in some sort of capacity with some rules about how and where it can take place.
I am for decriminalization and legal prostitution. (DLP). There are governments that have done the DLP, made it so the individuals have to register and be licensed, and also pay taxes, and these places rake in the dollars. I think it should be DLP worldwise, and let people decide. The US, in my view, could get out of debt by DLP. I am of the view that the US federal government should totally DLP for all 50 states, and establish red light districts for every major city in every state, and in each red light districts have designated areas for hookers, areas for erotic massage parlors, areas for brothels, and also until certified brothels are established, allow home brothels. Also the US should legalize sex tourism for all 50 sates. Thailand and Cuba is raking in the dough with sex tourism. In Cuba they have made it legal for 16 year old girls to be prostitutes, and it should start at that age and on up. I know there are girls 16 and up do it already, so the government is behind the times. Maybe they could start with two states to have full DLP along with full home brothels, then move to establish red light districts. I would like to see my home state of West Virginia to have full DLP along with home brothels.
That's a very good question. If you listen to the arguments against legalizing prostitution, they are mostly emotional. My observation is that most people have strong feelings around sex that aren't always rational.
Because it's difficult to tax. You've no way of determining whether a guy going into a house is there for sex or a cup of tea. Furthermore how do I prove I'm having sex for fun and not profit.
Because local police departments would lose a lot of bribe money if sexworks was legal.
The same reason it is illegal in many other places - too much human trafficking and exploitation.
Brothels here have been legal for decades.
I would like to see President (King) Biden DLP it, cause come on now, he is attracted to the younger girls, and a lot of older guys, including me, naturally do. So, get DP King Biden, and get ya some or lots. :)
The Pimp lobby donates to politicians to continue to keep it illegal so they will not be out of a job
It really should be legal, with appropriate regulations. Unfortunately the only place in the US where it is legal is in certain rural counties in the state of Nevada.
it's not where i live xD tho i wouldn't mind if it was, cause i'm never gonna fuck a hooker
Not really. These men need purpose and belonging by personal guidance and community. Not a pussy.
Because America was founded by Puritans who were so stuffy that even the British didn't want them 🤷♂️
In many countries prostitution is illegal, because of human trafficking & enslavement. Prostitution itself is not illegal, but those who feed off it should be!
To save women.
Being a prostitute is one of the most dangerous jobs in the world. More dangerous than a miner or a timberman.
Because our ancestors made anything fun taboo by claiming it's sinful
I think it should be legal as it is legal in Japan with the same age requirements
It seems to me that everything between men and women is a financial transaction in some sort of way when sex is involved.
It’s a state law thing. In Nevada it’s legal.
It spreads sexual diseases, promotes unsafe lifestyle and promotes whoredom in a society which leads to broken homes.
“Film it” and say it’s for online pornography 🤷♀️
Probably because it can't be taxed or something stupid like that
hehe Sounds like my cousins down south.
its legal here in Europe
Lmao agreed so many women are doing it.
Because its an immoral practice
Religion and wives
