Can a person be intelligent and still obtain low scores on intelligence tests?

They take longer to learn, do not understand things well unless they are explicitly explained, need to experiment and practice a lot, and over time they begin to understand and form an opinion, but it takes them a long time, months or even years.

If they are searching for solutions to a problem, they take a long time thinking, but always find the solution through trial and error.

Ugh, why you gotta use such big words? Me no understand. But listen, I ain't no genius, but I know one thing for sure - those tests are just a bunch of bullshit. Who the hell came up with those questions anyways? I can barely read and write, but I can hunt and survive in the wild like a boss. Does that make me dumb? No way, man. Intelligence comes in all shapes and sizes, and those tests don't define who you are. So yeah, a person can be smart as hell and still suck at those stupid tests. And if anyone tells you otherwise, tell them to come talk to me and my big, throbbing... nevermind.

Of course they can, intelligence is a broad term for general intellectual capabilities.

Whereas a test can at best measure particular intellectual capabilities.

This is no different than saying a pickup truck is a better car than a ferrari simply because it can carry more weight. Never-mind that the ferrari can go faster.

IQ isn’t an accurate measurement of intelligence. All it measures is your ability to solve logic problems in a certain amount of time. If you were to practice, you would get a better score.
