There are a huge range of issues contributing to racial disparity in the US. Self sabotage is one of them, but probably not the worst. Probably bigger is that it usually takes several generations for family wealth to change, and until the 60s there was overt discrimination in the US

Across the entire world, no matter the race of the individuals, if you segregate a population, isolate it, deny it good access to education then crime, drugs, violence, etc will rise.
This is fact. Literally backed up by all social studies on the matter. We have this in my country. Social neighborhoods, people with low buying power and low education are put there. It always, as in always, leads to violence and other problems. All of them super white.
The issue is not that they are black. The issue is the conditions they are put in.

Everything from the way he talks to the way he acts shows where he came from. You upbringing has massive impact in you. The environment around you molds you. If around you there is nothing but poorly educated, violent and drugged morons you are out of luck.

The things that affects the black community, our lack of exposure, proper education ( especially financial literacy ) , defunding, gentrification, payday loans company/lone sharks and a wide variety of other things.

Before the sixties the black community suffered injustices related to segregation. At the same time, the economy of black neighborhoods was on the rise relative to other groups (catching up), divorce rate was lower than whites, and educational performance was also catching up. This happened organically in spite of adversity. Bring in USG interventions in the 60s and 70s and it all went to hell. If you want to know what a government can to to a people, this is an example. The extinction-level birth rates among white zoomers is another example of government policy resulting in disaster for a demographic group.

It's definitely a close second at the very least. But there are a lot of successful black men and women who I am proud of. But yea, sometimes they just get in their own way and it's hard to watch.
