Did a guy needed to burrow money from someone and pay back more of the money he burrowed from someone?

The other day, in front of Jewel-Osco. A guy asked me to give him $2, and he says, “I have a job. I’ll pay you $10 back next week.” The other two guys on the left side in front of me was laughing. The guy says, “don’t mind them.” I forgot the last part he says after that.

It's possible that the guy was in need of money and was offering to pay back more in order to persuade you to lend him some. However, it's also possible that this was a scam or a dishonest attempt to obtain money from you. It's always important to exercise caution when giving money to strangers, and to trust your instincts if something seems off.
