It lends more into the idea that women have value for simply being women, where men must earn their value in today's society.

Flowers are over-rated. I hate them.

But i think the thing that is the biggest problem with men and women.

For far too long men have treated women like children, instead of equals.

So they reward us for nothing. They compliment us for stupid things that children can do.

They think they need to open the door for us like we are children who can't take care of ourselves.

Someone is being mean to you, don't worry daddy will protect you.

Stay home while i do all the work, because you can't do it.

That's where these behaviors come from.

And it's has been this way for so long that many women have it as an expectation to be treated like a child

If you really think about it, is it more disrespectful to be treated and rewarded like a child, or be rewarded for actually accomplishing something.

Lol yeah your speaking from a 2k baby stand point tho, they're many traditional women who will throw a fit if you don't open that door. Which I won't and many women still cry and want flowers and get upset if their husband or S/O didn't buy them one. You can't tell men to not treat women the way most women wanna be treated, that's a recipe for a disaster. That's why men quit looking because you got women saying no and others saying yeah lol

But i think it's been engrained in so many women that y'all supposed to do it, or your being disrespecrful, that they expect it.

Kinda like how a lot of men think this behavior is expected, so they think they are being a gentleman.

I think people have always had to earn their value in various ways, but much less so for both genders in today's society. It used to be that if a woman was clearly not wife material, men wouldn't want anything to do with them. It used to be that most women would not accept a weak, non providing man. Promiscuity has changed both of those things to a large degree. I could see how one could argue that women who have no good qualities are still held as valuable, but in my opinion it is only in pretense and the only significant value they have to men is for illegitimate sex. In reality they still end up looked down upon, it's just a lot more subtle because of political correctness.

It's true. Life is harder for men in a lot of ways, but I don't think that's a bad thing. Men shouldn't need to be coddled the way women are. But I do think there should be more a support system for men who need it.

I see women as women, not children... compared to men, women do get coddled.

It starts as children. A little girl falls and gets hurt, she's hugged and comforted... A boy gets a pat on the back and a "you'll be alright"

I don't think women need to be coddled as much as they are. That is just what most are used to. That's why I said it isn't a bad thing that men don't get treated the same way women do.

I take guys flowers, when they are in the hospital. Get well cards white roses if a friend or yellow or red, etc...

I don't get flowers that often but I do get them, but I actually don't really like them, I prefer wild flowers out in nature like these.

Far better to spend time with someone, enjoying nature and wild flowers than to simply be given flowers.

I think everyone has to earn their value, some have it easier than others... and regret is more powerful than appreciation.

Not all women, just pretty girls. Also, good-looking guys. It has been shown by studies that good-looking people are also perceived as kinder, more intelligent, funnier, and more competent and trustworthy by society, therefore they are treated better and have more opportunities compared to less attractive individuals, who are made fun, marginalized and ignored by society

Probably don't get flowers because that's the society that was created and forged by men themselves. If men were to get flowers it would probably be other men that would make fun of you and judge you for not being manly enough. Women had no power whatsoever in society when the tradition of giving flowers was first created. If you want that to end then men have to end it. I'd gladly give a guy flowers if I knew he really wanted them and would proudly accept them.
