Not nearly as many as they claim because the new definition of "mass shooting" is any time more than 2 people are involved, which ends up including many gang shootings of each other, but the news tries to portray it as all shootings are just innocents getting shot.

It is similar to how they mislead the public by claiming that owning a gun makes you less safe and more likely to be killed by a criminal when in fact, most gun deaths in the USA are suicide, not a homeowner getting their weapon taken from them and killed with it like many politicians try to claim.

A person with a mental illness or a person who really hates their own life grabs a gun and shoots other people to take out their anger also maybe in the hope the police will shoot them dead at the end.

Exactly. However, most of the "mass shootings" you described are gang-related beefs where some POS shoots up a birthday party or does a drive-by shooting, which is why it's propaganda. The phrase 'mass shooting' conjures an image in your mind which triggers an emotional response, when the reality is much different.
