Why do we hate some people on sight and they hate us, too?

We hate people when we can't accept something about them. It could be the way they look or dress or talk or anything really. Something about the person doesn't feel at harmony because subconsciously it doesn't add up.

"ughh, that guy with his chest hairs flying all over the place wearing a deep v-neck, how crass!"

"ugghhh that girl over there cut the line, why because she's pretty?"

"I don't like that guy's face, it's to derpy, fuck him!"

The key is to identify why you feel a certain way about the person and really ask yourself why you have these negative feelings.

If you do that long enough (if it sounds hard, it can be a lot harder to do than it sounds.) you will have the ability to quickly diffuse senseless hate.

It's hard to stay mad at someone who responds to hate with love and acceptance. And it has the added benefit of making you look good when they lash out for some silly reason.

Generally, when we have an immediate reaction to someone, based only on sight, it is due to something about them reminding us of a previous experience. It's like the common assumption that all redheads or Latins are hotheads. We react to the trigger rather than allowing ourselves to get to know the person as an individual. People also react this way to individuals who are challenged in one way or another. Rather than learning what they are capable of, people assume they are capable of nothing worthwhile. You have no control over other people doing this, but you can catch yourself and force yourself to get to know a person before making any lasting judgments. If others judge you, just be consistent in showing your positive side, making the most of your true assets.
