No, it's in danger from House Republicans who are unconstitutionally ("The validity of the public debt of the United States, authorized by law, including debts incurred for payment of pensions and bounties for services in suppressing insurrection or rebellion, shall not be questioned.") taking the country hostage in order to extort changes they could never get by legitimate means. Trump relaxed the already inadequate regulations on the banks instituted post 2008. Biden, unlike Trump, isn't ripping off the government at every opportunity.

No congress in history has ever refused to raise the debt ceiling (which is to pay the bills the country has already incurred) before the US started defaulting. These Republicans in the House might actually do it, which is unconstitutional and likely to blow up the US economy and probably the world's.

Yes, there should be fiscal restraint, which is why the deficit has been significantly reduced since Biden came into office. It rocketed up during Trump's administration (at a time when the economy was doing well, not when the country needed deficit spending to keep the economy going like after the Bush recession or during covid), even before covid, in 2018, it increased by $116 billion to $782 billion.

@goaded Seems easy to fix. when congress passes spending and president signs, the debt limit is increased by said amount. Republicans though are using it to reduce spending, the only time they have power to the bargain table, else as Biden said... he will keep spending. There seems no restraint... for they want to keep inflating.
Trump had covid on his watch, $1000 payments to people, business shut down.. what's rocketed is military spending.
The last few times around went down to the wire... nothing new.
They will both keep playing the game until something blows, such that it isn't on their watch or is blamed on someone else.

Republicans don't care about the debt or deficit when there's a Republican president. Also, I expressly talked about the years before covid, when the economy was still on the road to improvement, which is the time to at least reduce the deficit if not actually pay down the debt (like in the 1990s under Clinton). Instead, like when Bush came in, they increased the deficit by giving tax cuts to the rich. Trickle down is a lie.

@goaded you make some valid points. It's a two headed monster, I see it that way. It's not like republicans are saints... they spend like crazy as well on their own priorities. The one side looks crazy and the other side is nuts. Clinton had it under control, then the wars started... and the housing sector collapsed from the clinton policies. Bush spent us into a mess.
they are doing their job to attempt to cut spending, that is what they should do. govt is out of control with the "printing press".

I was watching the White House Corespondents dinner with President Biden and Roy Wood Jr as the comedian. If I recall he made a joke about Georgia and the camera showed the Georgia secretary of state in the audience laughing. It is charge I'm looking forward to the most.

Another BS charge. The president's phone calls are all recorded. There is a phone call that asks if he could find some more votes. He did not say pick them off the mail in ballot tree or any other illegal act. Every time the democrats pull one of these BS changes out of a hat Trump gets more donations and goes up even more in the polls.

I heard the court proceedings from the woman in New York that claimed Trump raped her in Bergdorf Goodman department store. There was an episode of Law and Order SUV where a woman gets raped in Bergdorf Goodman's department store. Trump's attorney asked her if she thought it was a quite a coincidence. Jean Carroll agreed it was an amazing coincidence. She could not say for sure what year this supposedly happened. If the democrats really wanted to get Trump you would think they would have coached their "star" witness a little better.

The next day would have been fine too. Trump was clearly asking the elections official to help him change the result of what was actually a legal and accurate election in Trump's favor. If nothing else that is attempted election fraud.

There's also the small matter of the fake electors. Apparently, they were all being represented by the same lawyer who somehow failed to inform them that the AG had offered immunity in return for evidence of the scheme to invalidate the state's EC votes.

There was a clear video that showed two boxes being pulled out from under a table. The officials just said "nothing to see here folks". Nobody even asked why they were in there after the press and all the poll watchers were told they were closing for the night The whole thing stinks and thr crooked FBI did nothing to investigate. They probably knew what they would find.

It has been on TV numerous times. there was a tablecloth on the table and when everyone went home somebody picked up the tablecloth and pulled out two boxed of "ballott sized pieces of paper." Then miraculously the next morning Joe Biden was the winner. There was some kind of review and i think they said someting like because you could not really see exactly what the pieces of paper was the investigation could not go forward. Thet to me was not good enough. I guess it was good enough for Bidens people because they got the result that they wanted.
