Sit here and do my work, probably on The Enpsychlopedia.
If I were still allowed to be at MY house, I'd at least stand out front and watch the parade as it went past the house!!
When I was a kid, I'd get loads of red, white & blue crepe paper and wrap it around the spokes, handlebars and frame of my bike, get streamers to hang from the handle grips, for the first couple hours of the day zip back & forth on the bike from my house to 3 blocks away where the parade starts to see if it's started yet and, when it was supposed to start, get into the parade at the end with all the other kids in town on their bikes and ride the entire route, about 2 miles, on my bike. After the parade, I'd ride back home and we'd start the cook-out with my grandparents, and local aunts and uncles and any others (and cousins) from out of town that might've swung by for the holiday. after eating (from `72 to the mid `90's) we'd jump into the pool and spend the rest of the day there. Later in the evening, we'd spend the last few hours of the night playing cards or sitting on the porch swing talking.
Here's a video of exactly what the parade looked like. This was shot 6 weeks before I was hatched in 1957. The second 2/3 of this were shot across the street from my house. about 2/3 of the way in, yo can see a woman in a flowery dress step up to the curb in front of my house on the left side of the frame. I'm pretty sure that was my grandmother. When still a girl, my aunt Shirley used to be the majorette in one of the marching bands.

The first 20-some seconds was shot half a block away from where the parade starts.
17 years ago, I got involved with a guy that makes documentaries and he decided to do one on our Memorial Day parade. We started out with about 15 people involved with the project and, last I heard of it, it was just he & I and two others that weren't even part of it when it started at least a year before!! He discovered his next door neighbor was a Viet Nam vet and after a few months of talking to the guy, pretty much changed the theme of the movie from the parade to this guy's experiences in Nam and, after a couple months of that, the project just died!! I haven't seen or heard from him since and he only lived about 6 blocks away from my house.
I will be in Colorado for a wedding.
Thanks Paris, I you have a great Holiday weekend.

My fiancee and I are going to LA the preceding week, so we will probably stay home on Memorial Day.
I have no idea that’s a ways off. I guess I’ll be eating at Denny’s probably by myself. Thinking about your favorite restaurant is and I’ll be recording the memorial day memorial service on PBS like me and my brother always watch every year together and when they play the United States, Air Force music, we always stand they play it at the end of the show every year
I will probably just hang out at home. Maybe go out to eat someplace and get some work done in my yard.
Charity 5k while wearing body armor for extra "fun."
ride the bike, fix some stuff, find some military grave sites to pay my respects.
I'll be somewhere in Europe, on a long-awaited and planned vacation
My plan is to try to enjoy th beach while keeping an eye out for people trying to park on my property.,
Well, if I stay home, I’ll watch the airshow at Jones beach that weekend or if I go away maybe I’ll see my brother or my daughters before that
One of the few good things about Long Island
Have (the closer ) daughter and her family over for a BBQ.

What part of PA? I live in the Central part along the Susquehanna River!
Seems like every sports game is Memorial Day. Maybe we need a “let’s stop invading” day.

I'll be grateful for those who served for good reason, and be sad for those who only thought they did but were really just political cannon fodder.
