I always thought elbows in the table napkins not on the lap and non aligned silverware were just people being sloppy but I’ve noticed this etiquette and many others manners are just not taught unfortunately is this because of fast food or what I don’t understand?

And good riddance to that. Table manners has plagued dining halls far too long in my humble opinion. Eating is supposed to be a social and happy event, not a stage on which you play social politics. That is elitism at its worst, when it ruins something that should be a positive part of your life.
Ikr.. people suffering from war, mass shootings on a daily basis, earthquakes, hurricanes, famine, humanitarian crises, global warming, financial collapse, terrorism, COVID etc when they should be concerned about is elbows on the table and non aligned silverware.. What’s wrong with people nowadays? Good to see someone has their priorities straight.
Because table manners are pointless. The only ones you need to know is wash your hands before you eat and don't chew with your mouth open
