Yes I do, if the politicians in power stopped committing those crimes then there would be no need for whistleblowers, why should whistleblowers be punished for doing the right thing.

Anyway it heavily depends on the subjective judgment of what the whistleblower leaked.

For example Julian Assange was at one time regarded a hero hacktivist. However he’s actually very anti American. His release of the Afghanistan warlogs put people’s lives at risk (he didn’t redact the names of spies working for the USA) and he likely got some people killed. He could of leaked that classified data and accomplished his agenda without putting people in danger.

The United States has whistleblower laws that protect whistleblowers, but if "whistleblowers" - and I put that in quotes for a reason - are violating the law themselves, then they should be prosecuted.

Its unfortunate but thats how everyone is. At least from my personal experience. For example former coworkers on night shift would have beers and get high while working!
