Weren't the right crowing about how Durham was going to find evidence of massive lawbreaking when he started his investigation?

Here's what someone said when it was just getting started: "it is not entirely unreasonable to assume that the Durham investigation will learn more [than the IG report] and that it will point to even more serious allegations. Indeed, the Durham probe has already been elevated to the status of a criminal investigation and it is perhaps revealing that Durham felt obligated to release a statement saying that he did not agree with some of the IG's conclusions regarding the predicates of the initial investigation."

(It turns out that it was "elevated to the status of a criminal investigation" so it could quash evidence of Trump lawbreaking in Italy. Does that get a mention in the final report at all?)

I do appreciate you pointing out that Trump and his team are stupid. Something like seven of his team were convicted, many for (successfully) covering up other crimes (one let off by Barr, who was the guy who appointed Durham). Trump should have been indicted for the 10 counts of obstruction on Jan 21 2021.

Durham had full access to everything and twice as long as Mueller to find anything. Also, "Durham had uncovered evidence during his Italy trip of possible criminal misconduct by Trump", but that didn't make it into the report, did it?

Nobody quit Mueller's team because of worries about ethics, unlike Durham's.

They could investigate him quietly (but that would have defeated the political reasons), and then come forward with a compelling case to go deeper or make charges. They just smeared him at a critic point in the political process. It was meant to inflict political damage not to safeguard the country. The NYC DA is doing the same thing and will have the same result of political damage but not much else. It’s all a sham and the world knows now. The damage to our federal organizations will not mend for decades but the corrupt don’t care even though they will certainly be dead in a couple of decades… Biden, Clinton and perhaps Obama.

Which investigation are you talking about? The current one is extremely quiet, the only information we get about it is from court filings, which are an essential part of the process.

None of the investigations are "shams". The NYC jury found Trump did sexually assault Carroll, the Trump foundation was found guilty of tax fraud, the Georgia investigation is into the clear attempts to do away with the results of the 2020 election in that state (there are recordings!), the DoJ special counsel investigation is into Jan 6th, which involved a seditious conspiracy (at least seven convictions so far) and the stolen documents, which was also an obvious crime (Trump seems to have wanted to be paid for their return, which happened with Nixon, but the law was changed so it couldn't happen again).

Well, there are still the facts that there was Russian interference in the election, they were obviously trying to get Trump elected, and Republicans obviously did nothing to counter that. There were also multiple contacts between the campaign and Russian agents, as well as obstruction of the Mueller investigation from the top on down.

(Note how those Republicans are careful not to look at Trump's family while looking for money coming from foreign countries; $2billion to "invest" is just a lifetime multi-million dollar income for Kushner.) Talking of Kushner, he shouldn't even have been given security clearance, but Trump gave it to him anyway.

Trumps been thoroughly vetted. his tax returns are out and he's been audited for a long time before that. I see nothing on MSNBC about that. There is only spin on MSNBC about the Durham investigation... if Trump was guilty, they'd be frying him. I've never seen such an obvious BS used to attack and unseat, lockup, and damage a President. That's all it was... and they knew it. It was a ploy to stop him from getting anything done, sorta like Reps did with Obama... but way worse.
I can only hope Trump gets in and goes after these people hard, but it will be the uglist thing we've ever seen, with riots as the left/antifa pushes back.
