What do you honestly think of this statement made by my fiancé’s grandmother?

“Gay people are like shooting guns just because the exist doesn’t make it right” that’s the bare bones of that statement and me and my fiancé agreed that any of our friends or guests at our wedding shall not talk about their sexuality at all to save them from any unnecessary slander (my grandma is homophobic as well) and we wouldn’t want to exclude two important family members even if I don’t get along with my grandma.

Her analogy makes no sense. By shooting a gun, you can seriously injure or kill a person, while just by being gay, you don't hurt anybody. Besides, who gives any person the authority to decide what is "right" for another human being to live his/her life? Your fiance's grandmother can shape her life in any way she wishes, while she has zero jurisdiction over someone else's life choices.
