Montana has become the first state in the union to ban “drag story hour” for children at public schools and libraries.

The state’s Republican Gov. Greg Gianforte signed the new bill on May 22 after the legislature passed it.

Meanwhile, gay and transgender advocates decried the law as an attack on their community.

“Montana’s new law criminalizing freedom of expression and art should be a red flag for everyone. The moral panic of drag has too long been a scapegoat for transmisogyny and overall transphobia in this country,” Jonathan Hamilt, the executive director of Drag Story Hour, told CNN

Good. There's nothing of value in having men in womanface reading books to small children. The entire country should ban that crap and replace it with having parent volunteers reading to the kids instead.

I support this because drag is inherently sexual and has no place around children. I would also support bans on "stripper story hour" or "porn star story hour".

Well what is the purpose behind these drag shows for kids in public libraries and schools?

To be honest I think kids in school should be learning their school work, this seems like an hour long distraction thst they don't need. Public libraries well parents have the option not to take their kids. I suppose in both cases if parents have the right that their children aren't there I don't see a problem.
