Should parents have RIGHTS to interfere with content in PUBLIC school that they feel is not age appropriate or has a "dodgey" agenda?

public schools have government policy, to educate with certain standards usually for education of RECOGNIZED subjects 3 r-s "reading 'riting 'rithmatic" but when schools add stuff beyond that, should parents have rights to interfere what their kids get indoctrinated?
