Is Australia a good ppace to live?

Australia is very similar to New Zealand in many ways, so yes, it is. You can enjoy the benefits of a universal and free health care system, fantastic food, the best coffee in the world, a very low crime rate, strict gun control (no school shootings every week, like in the U. S.), modern infrastructure, abundant work and wealth, and from the Southern Hemisphere you can see a lot of interesting stars if you like astronomy.

A few negatives though include: nanny-state, authoritarian state and federal governments. Dreadful accents, the worst internet on the planet, and you have to be practically a millionaire to afford a house (actually, you DO have to be a millionaire, because as I understand it the average residential property in any of the large cities, is about 1.6 million dollars).

Sounds realky great and apparently the pros are overwhelmingly more than its cons as I see here. Which one would you rather to prefer amongst Canada and Australia? Which is better?

It was, but it's gone extremely leftist, with all the usual problems. High taxes, bankrupt states (territories), homeless tent cities, and tyrannical government (COVID restrictions were so Draconian that they made North Korea look relaxed).

There's also the problem with a lack of jobs - a problem that AI is only just beginning to amplify. And it's nearly impossible for Australia to be a manufacturer of anything because they have to ship in most natural resources, then ship the finished goods out. It's essentially a huge island, so shipping makes everything more expensive.

Certainly there's a lot of natural beauty there, but it's increasingly difficult to live, and the government is out of control - with no Bill of Rights to rein them in.

Google "Australia COVID restrictions" and read some of the stories - you will probably be shocked.
