Current polling has RFK Jr. just 1% behind Biden, so it's not too unreasonable to assume that RFK Jr. could possibly overtake Biden.

The source of your poll is Rasmussen who has a rather spotty record of polling predictions and has a pro-GOP bias. I am not debating the essential tenet of this poll's assertion, but you should find a better, less biased, more reliable poll.

In that poll, you can view favorability ratings of all sorts of public figures including RFK Jr. and Biden.

I'm not worried about RFK Jr. He's a bit nutty so he's not going to get elected.
Even his wife, actress Cheryl Hines, would rather distance herself from his vaccine opinions. So does the rest of the Kennedy clan.

RFK is one of the few Democrats in Washington I don’t absolutely despise. I think he actually stands a good chance at beating both Biden and Trump, but if he’s legit- the establishment won’t let him win.

That is completely false, yes some polls have Biden 50+ points ahead, but not all of them. Rasmussen polls tend to be pretty legit. FYI a recent YouGov poll has RFK Jr with the highest favorability rating among candidates including Republicans.
