What it looks like when the left takes over: terrorists and criminals rule the streets and law enforcement only exists to punish those who defend themselves from said terrorists and criminals. Teachers groom children and have the state remove them from their parents so they can get sex changes. White people are second-class citizens; so are straight men. There are no more grocery stores because they all closed due to looting, there are no emergency services because they are too busy dealing with the homeless drug addicts who overdose twice a week. Taxes are sky-high to pay for free stuff for the homeless and reparations for black people. If you happen to say the wrong thing or use the wrong pronoun you will lose your livelihood and be unpersoned by the state.

When Islam takes over: alcohol is illegal (which sucks) and women have to cover up in public; they may or may not be allowed to drive or leave the house without a male relative. Gays must go back in the closet or they are thrown from the rooftops, which is harsh but at least there is no more pride bullshit. Thieves have their hand chopped off, which is also harsh but at least the grocery store is still open. OnlyFans is shut down and female promiscuity declines somewhat. I have to put up with that annoying prayer call five times a day.

Both would suck but the woke leftist rule would be worse. Islam has at least proven that it can create and maintain a civilization, woke leftism has only proven that it can destroy one.

There are pros and cons to both.

Islamic terrorists make it no secret that they are a threat to you with them rolling around in tanks and pointing guns at people. Chances are the government knows they are there but won't do anything about them or any attempt to do so will fail.

Progressives are like spies. They make you do things like agree to things like racial segregation and discrimination in the name of "diversity equity and inclusion" and any attempt to tell them to shove it will get other people to condemn you out of fear of social rejection or possibly even have you arrested depending on how far they have infiltrated the establishment, which they would have to do to have any sort of power and influence over anyone. It is entirely possible that they are trying to go the Nazi route by swaying the public to have a fierce hatred over the "bigots" who speak out, to the point where they would be ok with rounding up the "oppressors."

Under shariah law, non Muslims would have to pay a Jizya tax to worship their own religion. If I just have to pay a tax to keep practicing Catholicism but in turn we get no more gay marriage, alcohol, pornography, abortion. As well as adultery and modesty laws are installed. Fuck it, I choose Islam.
