So many things to help others could’ve been done with that money but rich people yet again choose to do something that doesn’t even benefit themselves in the end and may have resulted in their own death. Why are people feeling bad?

Honestly I feel the opposite way.

The issue with wealth isn't that people spend it on silly things, but that they do not spend it.

If 'rich' people all spent their wealth on things like this nonstop the world would be a lot better for everyone else as they would no longer be siphoning funds away from the economy for, assuming interest, no real contribution.

But spending the money in itself returns the money to the economy. That is very good.

Hoarding the money is instead very bad for the economy.

If we can choose between rich people not spending their money or spending it on silly out of touch expenses, always go for the latter.

Sure I agree. Could have saved a whole bunch of livea instead. But I don't want to hold people to a standard I do not live up to. I spend money on myself too that could certainly make a difference to others. So I agree with you, but find it more difficult to argue as I don't live that way myself. And know like one person that does.

I said the same thing. These rich people spent a ton of money to visit a rusting hull at the bottom of the ocean just so they can brag to everyone that they saw the Titanic. I would have just rented the DVD if I wanted to see it that badly.
