My second job when I retired. Either to work on a cruise or live on it for some time.
I am planning to sell my home. Then live on a cruise. When I come back, I go on another cruise. :) I love the idea.

I tend to think that eventually the novelty would start wearing off.

I'm sure all of the stops would be amazing since I've never been out of the United States, but part of my enjoyment in life is seeing my friends and family in their own element. Even if all of our close friends and family will join us, it would not be in the setting that we are accustomed to seeing each other and enjoying each other's company.
tiny sidenote, I would not be able to go exploring on any of my favorite bikes.Maybe as a form of retirement, but working on one would be hard. Like, not even working for the actual ship but like working on the ship. You have no internet so you have to use their computers, which just makes remote work suck ass
Wait. I might have misunderstood the question. Do I get pain 30k a year to live on a cruise ship or does it cost me 30k a year to live on a cruise ship?
Does it come with all the food and amenities at no extra cost?
Maybe for a few months but not for an entire year. The cruise lines had to crack down on elderly people trying to do that. They became too much of a handful. Not to be disrespectful to the elderly, but their needs can be greater and take more time from the crew.
Nah. But this would probably appeal to somebody like my sister when she reaches retirement. She's one of those people that have to be out and about every damn night. She over commits. I know she loves cruises so this sounds like it'd be perfect for her and her husband.
If I could have the ship to myself I would do it. Having a couple of thousand people in such small quarters would drive me nuts. Especially if they were all old.
not sure. I really enjoy stable land, but never say never.
I think it beats sailing across the universe in a small tin can...
I'd consider that, if it were during the fall/winter months. I could easily work from a boat if there was wifi.
A houseboat by myself… maybe… a cruise ship, yeah no
Id certainly consider it as a retirement lifestyle. See the world. But I'm guessing 30k doesn't include all expenses
if money was not an issue, yeah maybe. but only if i had a say in where the boat goes.
a floating retirement home where you meet people from all kinds of the world. You get your world knowledge that way
Where is the website for this? I’m ready to register.
Could be a good option for retirement
