For sound to be transmitted you need physical contact between the two points. Something like air for example. That is why vacuum does not transmit sound because it is empty.

To overcome this impossibility you would need the sound, AKA the vibrating back and forth motion to move so far that it travels across the vacuum and touches the other side by itself. I can't even begin to imagine the amount of energy that would require but it would probably vaporize this entire solar system if I had to take a guess.

Maybe in terms of physical boundaries yes. Although there is a domain of another set that can exceed that exponentially knowing no end.

Soundwaves need matter to travel, Air, Water, Metal, Rock, ... Doesn't matter the denser the faster they travel.

But in space there is nothing, or too little to transfer soundwaves.

If we could hear a sound wave from that distance it would produce a pretty big shock wave that would probably jolt the Earth pretty badly.

No- and we wouldn't hear it, because sound can't pass through a vacuum. Sound is, essentially, a patterned vibration, and there's nothing in a vacuum to vibrate.

In space nobody can hear you scream. Literally; there has to be some sort of material to carry sound waves, such as air or water. Between the moon and here there isn't enough "stuff" to transmit sound.

Small meteors hit moon all the time over the years. We don't hear it bc we're to far away.
