I don't know.
Probably not. I think Taiwan could be more difficult for China than Ukraine is for Russia. Russia shares a land border with Russia. Taiwan can only be invaded by an amphibious assault. Also, the USA (if they are wise and if their goal is to keep Taiwan free and independent) has years to stock them up with all sort of weapons to more than protect themselves and to wipe out incoming missiles, boats and aircraft.
The Taiwan Strait is roughly twice as face as the English Channel distance that they traversed on D-Day. Modern weapons are far more lethal and can see things coming from further out.
I think if the USA and the world just arm the hell out of Taiwan they can fend off an invasion that has to cover 110 miles amphibiously.
People say WORLD WAR III, that would mean the world would need to get involved. If it is just China agaist Tawain, or China and the USA, that isn't the "world". A lot of other countries would have to join in for it to be a WW.
Eh. Far moreso than Ukraine, and while I would argue yes without other considerations, I have zero faith whatsoever that our government is prepared or willing to fight it let alone win it.
Thanks to some pretty idiotic outsourcing and industrial regulations, the US and really western economies as a whole are heavily dependent on trade with Taiwan, which a war would invariably disrupt. This, along with some heavy-handed corruption, is why most would likely throw Taiwan under the bus if it meant a relative preservation of the flow of resources.
Don't be naive. China won't stop when US gives them Taiwan. Australia is very high on China's take over list.
US haven't won many wars I'm afraid. Helped in world war 2 yes. Vietnam lost Iran lost Iraq lost

This was built for that scenario. If Taiwan is invaded, all of Taiwan's semiconductor factories will be destroyed. It will create a mini dark age for computing around the world, but TSMC will already be set up in the USA. America will take a hit of a couple years in computing progress, but the rest of the world will be at least a decade or more behind in technological development.
https://www.youtube.com/embed/Khlqtrn3YHAI would argue that if China invades Taiwan then a third world war is already inevitable no matter the response of USA. A China which is foolish enough to invade Taiwan simply can't coexist in this world without leading to such a conflict.
Taiwan is not worth fighting over. The only good thing about Taiwan it can be a listening station for the US government, see what the Communists are doing. That's all we're good for as a nation to see what our enemies are doing to plot against us. That's probably why they send spy balloons over to see what we're doing against them. Why don't we just grow up and stop being a little stupid spoiled brats. What the nation live by itself.
No, it isn't. We shouldn't throw away thousands of lives and billions of dollars just to keep China from taking their island back.
No. But if you don't stand for liberty and against oppression then does anything really matter anymore?
It isn't what happens with Taiwan, that's really important. The bigger issue is how far does China go
Stand for something or stand for nothing
Yes.
