Do you think false accusations should be punishable with the same level of consequences as the accusation itself would have warranted?

that's never going to happen. some people in society are simply too stubborn to admit the facts when someone has been found innocent yet they insist they are still guilty

people were still calling Kobe Bryant a rapist at his funeral despite being proven innocent yet nothing has ever happened to the woman who falsely accused him of rape

Depending on the severity of it.
Mistakes can be made and in some events you'll remember some events wrong.
Ex: person thought there neighbors broke in there house.

But false rape, abuse, assault etc should be punishment

Not necessarily but it would depend on the nature of the accusation and circumstances. There does need to be consequences for false statements and accusations though.
