Why do you think some females find it embarrassing to tell other people they are menstruating?

Maybe because they don't want people thinking the reason they may seem or act a certain way has anything to do with them being on their period. Also because menstruating involves bleeding from the vagina, which I don't imagine is a pretty thing a woman likes to think about, let alone liking that everyone else knows she's bleeding from her vagina at that time of the month.
