I think it is an unnecessary overshare.

That is a time when girls are infertile. Guys are biologically programmed not to be very interested in you during your period so we have a walk away response. We are highly interested in you when you are ovulating so we'd be ok with you saying "I'm ovulating today".

There was an interesting academic paper done on strippers earnings over the phases of their cycle that proves this. Of course earnings peaked at ovulation.

I have recently learnt that there is a massive cultural difference to openess in taking about the matter, for example in the Philippines it seems to be as casual as everything else in the conversation.
I have had aquantences and various international connections where mostly the girls had a discreet approach or just didn't mention it in a group or private conversations, I have no qualms against it and I am vastly under-educated about the subject, it often feels somewhat off-putting and serious.
Please note I have no derogatory intentions and how I feel about the female anatomy is not an indicator of how fondly I feel about women and girls.

Couldn't care less it also doesn't deter me from desiring you either. I've never let a period stop me from sex or being loving and nurturing. Sweets, savories, gatorade, and a heating pad is a basic kit. Why should you being on your period matter if I'm already deciding to love you? Conditional/judgy love is no bueno.
