Why do boys find it disgusting when girls are on their period?

The other day on a group chat one of the girls randomly stated how she wasn't feeling well because she was on her period, and immediately a lot of the boys started to go " EWWWWWW PERIOD" and " UGH THEY ARE DISGUSTING" and these boys are like 17-18 years of age. I know that period is known as 'dirty blood' but it's not like these girls are bleeding on them or anything, usually no one knows that a girl is on her period. Also recently I heard another boy talk about how it's weird to think about cuddling with his girlfriend when she is on her period, I was shocked because if that's his girl then he shouldn't be weirded out. All I'm saying is that it is something that them girls can't control and some of them go through a lot of pain (cramps) during it, the last thing they need is a bunch of immature boys telling them how disgusting it is.

Because we’re taught that menstruation is meant to be a big bad secret. We’re told to put our pads and tampons in a pocket in our purse, to act like it’s a taboo, to never talk about it because it’s a “dirty” thing when it’s literally our wombs hitting the refresh button every 28-35 days. It’s not our fault and it’s one of the few instances of bloodshed that doesn’t come from violence. If my boyfriend had ever told me that periods put him off and that it made him feel weird about me I’d break up with him. Periods suck and being looked at like you’re contagious or ill just makes it worse.

My ex-wife always used to describe things in an off-putting way and put herself down when she was on her period, I tried to let her know I understood and didn't think bad of her about it but she was stuck in that mindset.
I put bad experiences in the past with boys made her expect the same from men, so dont let this affect how you feel about yourself.

I love with 2 sisters and have a girlfriend of 3 years and 8 months. Honestly a period does not affect me in the slightest. If I guy finds it disgusting I'll just say he's immature or they've never really been exposed to it. It depends on a few things but over all id say the older the guy is the less likely it bothers them. I know it does generalize everyone. I know there is exceptions, but that's what I've gathered as a rule of thumb. Hope it helps

That's so immature , its a natural part of life and is biologically necessary.
A guy is supposed to take care of a girl and help her feel loved and cared for even more on her period than any other time.
He should cook for her , care for her and be affectionate toward her during her period.
I believe, a real man wouldn't treat a girl any differently whether she is or isn't on her period. He would actually demonstrate his love even more during this fragile time for a girl than at other times.
