Because I’ve been struggling to decide on this for years and feel the benefits don’t outweigh the negatives. Firstly it’s very hard to get a solid following. You have to be special to stick out. Secondly if you do get a solid following you run the risk of what you are doing being public knowledge which can impact how you are treated in society by people who know you.
