Would it be a bad idea for me to start an OnlyFans?

Question

I'm going to start school full time this fall so I'll barely have any time to work. At the same time though I have my reservations about it. I don't want to be labeled a hoe and I'm afraid of people I'm close to (especially my family) finding out about it. I also have a child and I don't want him to find out about it down the road, he's still little. But damn if the money isn't tempting. Also I have no social media and I have no desire to have social media so I have no idea how I would be able to get subscribers. I'm going public with this as I value everyone's opinion.

As far as I know (from someone I know that has an OnlyFans) and thinking about earning the money, the best ways are to promote and reach people from social networks, that's how you could get more subscribers. But you don't want any of that, so another realistic option would be the DM's here at GaG because I do assume that promotions in here with posts are not allowed. It would be a start.

And once you have them, you do have to create the content and preferably the content they would like to see as well as the content that YOU want to bring for them, it can go both ways.

An important aspect for OF is the DM feature (direct messages like here at GaG) where you can interact (if/when you wish) with some users, that also can sell good, because this is what can get the most money in some cases, when you interact with some users, you're giving them an experience that is unique, because it is coming from you, and then there could be special requests or suggestions for content, etcétera.

On what you mentioned, there should be some precautions, don't reveal your identity, your location nor your connections, nothing that gives away your personal information.
Not only is a matter of safety but also to prevent the things you do not want, which is your family finding out, and other things people mentioned here, acquaintances, or employers, and stuff.

You should also be prepared for dealing with fans, and different kinds of people, it requires a lot of patience and tolerance sometimes, and being smart about it. You’re not going to make decent money on it unless you have a good following already OR you are willing to do nudity/niche kinky stuff. It’s such an over saturated field by now bc nearly every good looking girl has had the same idea as you, that at this point unless you have something unique that will set you apart of a big social media following, people will not subscribe to you. It’s not as easy as it seems! You do need to put in the time to message guys to get tips because that’s how majority of only fans girls make most of their money. Seeing as you have neither a huge social media following nor seem like you are willing to do some rlly explicitly content, I’d say it’s just not worth it in your case. If you want to do porn, because you enjoy it, more power to you.

If you don't want to do porn, but you are considering it for the money, it's probably not going to be worth it in the long run.

There are plenty of ways to make money, but there is absolutely no way to get the photos back once you put them on the internet or send them to a stranger.

I don't see anything wrong with it, and there are so many people doing it anyway that I don't see it exposing you publicly to your friends and family group. That is unless you think you're going to hit that top 5% tier and become super famous? But there are literally hundreds of thousands (millions?) of OnlyFans accounts, so you're just in a sea of others.

Also, to be transparent I'm one of those liberal people who thinks there's nothing wrong with nudity and sex, so it' also not really that big a deal to me anyway even if you were "outed". You could even wear a mask or never show your face, some people do that but that might also reduce your viewers because people like to see faces, it's a part of the whole package.

I don't know much about OnlyFans, but there are many ways to go about earning money without people finding out. Many sites let you block out certain states or countries or whatever you want. You can also just not show your face, or wear a mask or something. Keep in mind that once it's out there, it's out there forever so make it difficult to trace back to you.
