Being friends with benefits with an ex? So we just broke up yesterday after spending time and going on dates I ended things because I just feel as though I deserve better. I still want him in my life AND to spend time I just don’t wanna be WITH him. We have history together, so I can’t just never talk to him again, I want him as friends and such. I just don’t wanna be with him anymore as in a relationship. So today were talking discussing things. I said hey to him and he responded “ Can we be friends and maybe just try to go on a date sometime in the future after I've had time to work on some things” , I agreed. He said he didn’t wanna lose me, to give him a chance to make it up to me, he said he didn’t wanna end things this way. I told him I want him in my life regardless, he responded with as long as we get to cuddle & how he loves my touch and I bring him peace. I agreed that I’d love to just cuddle sometime too. He said “fwb it is”, I said “sure why not”, he said Like we gonna cuddle and not end up doing something“. Which is true 🤣 so I asked him what day he has off work so that he can spend the night with me and that’s when he started saying all this. Is it a bad idea to be friends with benefits with an ex? I don’t wanna be with him but he wants to still be with me and I’d rather just be friends with benefits

Why would you do this to him? He wants to be friends in hoping that he will get another chance. If you have no intentions of getting back with him, you need to just let it be and move forward. There’s no possible way of not attaching feelings to sex with someone once it’s already been done. You need to figure out if you really don’t want to date him and stop wasting his time.

Yeah when my cheating ex told me he would love to be friends with me, I told him to go F himself. Just accept how you feel and move on.

Bad idea, in my opinion. friends with benefits hardly ever work. Someone always ends up getting hurt. In your situation, it sounds like there is already some emotional attachment there, so it's bound to get messy.

I don't think so that's a good idea especially with a ex because I m sure that one will get hurt at the end. It really hurts I know after a break up but I think it's best to take your time and heal and move on starting it hurts but trust me it's the best thing to do or else if you are friends with benefits and later it didn't end up well I think that will be more painful.
