So why is there racism? The word racism or race implies a certain type of person but in reality there isn't a type.

because humans are inherently scared of "the different". the word "race" is an informal basically meaningless word, cause it's definition is too vague. like there is a taxonomic hirarchy. Taxonomy is the science of logically naming stuff and creating categoris according to similarities and differences between life forms. and that goes from general to specific which i'll briefly explain:

1: Kingdom is the most general possible category. animals, plants, insects, protista, archaea, bakteria or fungi. All humans are in the animal kingdom.

2: Phylum: All humans are Chorddates, which are animals that have a dorsal nerve cord, a notochord, pharyngeal slits, and a post-anal tail at some point during their development

3: Class: All humans are Mammalia, wich are warm-blooded vertebrates characterized by the presence of mammary glands, hair or fur, and the ability to nurse their young with milk.

4. Order: All humans are Primates, which have forward-facing eyes, grasping hands and feet, and complex social behaviors, including humans, apes, monkeys, and prosimians.

5. Suborder: All humans are Haplorhini, which are primates characterized by dry noses, forward-facing eyes, and the absence of a grooming claw

6: Infraorder: All humans are Simiiformes which are Haplorhini characterized by features such as grasping hands, forward-facing eyes, and complex social behavior.

7: Family: All humans are Hominidae which are Simiiformes with larger body size, lack of a tail, and the ability to walk upright on two feet (bipedalism).

8: Subfamily: All humans are Homininae that includes modern humans (Homo sapiens) and their closest extinct relatives, such as Neanderthals and Denisovans.

9: Tribe: All humans today are in the tribe of humini. this is a further subclassification to mark the divergence of humans from other great apes.

10: Genus: All humans today are in the genus homo includes the modern and all extinct homo species

11: Species are all of the species sapiens characterized by their unique cognitive abilities, advanced tool usage, complex language, and the capability for abstract thinking and cultural development.

so at this point we "could" further classify all the species homo sapiens into sub species cause there are very obvious phenotypes that would allow for such classifications but all such classifications are highly controversial, cause in history, it has often been politicized and abused to make discriminatory policies and laws. so the reason that "there is only one human race" as in "species" is NOT that we can not further biologically classify humans. the reason is solely cause that has political dangers associated with doing it.

so biologically there are different races if you wanna describe the human subsecies according to their phenotypes that are very clearly distinguishable. but due to politics an the human nature of "being scared of the different", we don't do that.

As to why racism exists: because the realities we evolved under meant that prioritizing your tribe over those of others was the best way to survive. Survival conditions don't allow for much leeway in the name of what's right; it's all down to what's expedient. Reject that, and your genetic lineage dies out.

You should read more, fact check a lot, then answer… Ethnic groups may be linked by a religious affiliation, a shared linguistic heritage or a common geographical origin. Ethnicity cannot be detected by DNA, but there is sometimes an overlap with a person's genetic ancestry.

For one, broad consensus used to be that cigarettes and asbestos are harmless, ulcers are caused by stress, and female hysteria should be treated by electroshocks and/or vibrators. And that's just the last 100 years. Scientific consensus means precisely jack shit, especially when you can easily argue that the consensus is heavily swayed by personal political and moral beliefs.

This line is completely and utterly meaningless. We share 99% of our DNA with some great apes. So unless you wanna say that bonobos are a social construct, drop this boilerplate nonsense argument.

And to the meat, again, isn't it a bit awkward that race can be accurately determined trough mere x-rays of people using several different methods? People can do this and AI can do it too. How do you think forensic anthropologists can determine race from skeletons alone? Ain't it a bit strange how people can dig up nothing but your skeleton and find out which 'social construct' you were, thousands of years ago?

Genetics of Race and Ancestry has determined that “biological races” in the human species do not exist. They cannot be determined by either physical or genetic measures; what we think of as “races” are socially assigned sets of characteristics that change depending on context. You will leave here a smarter man you’re welcome 😉
