Happy? Yes. Satisfied? No. When I was younger I never understood rich people and thier unbridled greed. I still feel the same way. Money does not motivate me. Yet at the same point it's only a matter of time now before I become a millionaire. And I'm still driven to keep building. How many millions do you need to feel like you've arrived? It reminds me of an interview of Colin Farrell gave not long after he became famous. He had made over a million dollars and he lamented that his grandfather was dying (I think of cancer). And he said for all that money he couldn't give his grandfather anymore time on this earth so he said " a better man it does not make me".

I guess what I'm saying is I've made enough to know that if you are not a complete and happy person without money, you won't be one with money. My family means more to many than any amount of money.

I always could use a bit more of course, but we're financially stable, we have a slush fund, and we can afford occasional luxuries and vacations. Our retirement accounts are on track for an early retirement, our son has a college fund started, and between equity in our current house and savings we have a sizable down payment on the next house. All in all I can't complain.

i feel like with my experience and talent, i need to get paid 13k more. but i'm a female. and overshadowed by others and get taken advantage of. (no matter if i get a new job).

i'm just going to keep my head down and wait for this bullshit economy to blow over.

other than that, i feel like my wage is the new starting wage now. and i worked so hard to get here already and get more of a salary. it feels like it's never enough and i'm right back to where i was 4 years ago. it's exhausting.

so yeah. i'm just not bothering anymore. i mean, i can live. but it's not good for my mental health because of who i live with. so... whatever.

It could be better. My wife and I have a wonderful home and everything we need, but out incomes barely cover our bills. We're kind of break even. And I have to dip into my retirement account sometimes. I'm concerned about that because that retirement money has to last.

The thing is, wages have increased by 27ish% but cost of living went up by like 140ish%. All within these past few years. So there's obviously an issue that just "working harder" isn't gonna fix. I'm already at 40-60 hours a week.

My situation is fine now. Sometimes in the past it wasn't - due to having made some poor choices and / or poor luck. Eventually some combination of hard work / good luck improved things.

Pretty much, but the inflation rate kind of sucks. It is crazy to me that people get taxed on savings interest that does not even match the inflation rate.
