Respect is earned not given for free. I believe this sums up life evolved from when I was born. What do you think?

A lot of people expect you to earn their respect but I believe resources should be earned and respect should be free because a truly good person hides their goodness and only God would know that they good people.

Very much agree. However I also believe that we should treat people assuming that they have earned their respect until they do something to prove otherwise.

I disagree. This mentality is the reason why people don’t even have manners anymore.

In the workplace I see less intelligence in management positions. They are chosen by "The Real World" mentality. It's not about your resume its about who my friend is. I see 0 solution finding skills in management now. My workplace us also a race war now. A certain supervisor likes his race even though he is the biggest loss of money in the facility and vice versa.

@Sharkstealth that’s called favoritism and often people that show great amounts of it end up being less respected because people see right through it. Management usually chooses others to be in management positions based on if they can be conned and walked all over easier than others.

And what you do in management positions is rarely reflected in your pay. Managers are usually the most underpaid employee in a business

When I was in my 20s management earned respect. Now we have walking jokes. They are so unknowledgable. Their only skills are secretarial. Thank goodness my top management regionally understands this. Local management doesn't have the authority to terminate my position. Definitely for good reason. And yes they are walked all over because they are stupid.

Our age difference is slightly different so I can’t really speak on what management was at one point but essentially a manager does a business owners dirty work and often times pay doesn’t reflect.

They are not even actually capable of anything. They just say yes massa and do as their told while gossiping about everything. There only skill is basic computer operations and can't even problem solve that. Paper organizers.

I agree - I work in a restaurant and two old managers I had were alcoholics , one was fired because the company realized her in capability. Ever since then I’ve realized manager positions typically aren’t worth it

And your right I make about double their pay but that's because I have licenses certifications and 5 times the experience in my field. They have nothing. Any bum off the street could be taught their job fairly quickly.

Their job is just to initiate company rules - which a lot of the rules come off as inhumane is todays world so instead they have some random to specify those rules so the company isn’t looked at as a bad company

I have some hospitality background at resorts and restaurants. Many employed are alcoholics and drug addicts.

Correct! It’s because it’s fast money and many of those kinds of people are equipped to fast money lifestyles
