President Joe Biden is in hot water after his Department of Energy proposed banning low-cost, popular gas water heaters in U. S. homes. The proposed regulation is set to take effect in 2029.

“Today’s actions—together with our *industry partners and stakeholders* — improve outdated efficiency standards for common household appliances, which is essential to slashing utility bills for American families and cutting harmful carbon emissions,” said Secretary of Energy Jennifer M. Granholm in a statement.

But existing boilers in American homes are lucky to last more than 8-10 years due to inferior materials selected to achieve planned obsolescence. And trust me, at least half of Americans cannot afford a tankless electric water heater. It would bankrupt them. It’s that bad here outside of the best neighborhoods.

Now ask yourself why? You mentioned the petrodollar and that has a lot to do with it. Believe me @Lliam understands the petrodollar and the advantage it gave the globalist neoliberal elites. That advantage did not trickle down to most Americans, who lost industrial jobs. Manufacturing exports were traded for exporting treasury bonds, and common people were left to be degraded economically and socially by elites who show them nothing but contempt. And where does the US budget go? To defend Europe and enforce the petrodollar system. Without the US paying for your defense, you would find it much harder to have socialized medicine and high-quality goods. Your share of the $1 trillion US defense budget is huge, and it falls on the backs of the common American people who have been betrayed by their leaders, regardless of party. Slashing utility bills just means they're going to raise utility prices. If 100 units of energy costs $10 now, they'll raise it to $15 or $20 per unit to make up for the lower energy usage. Plus they already went through a massive energy efficiency campaign in the 1990s, that's what all those bright yellow stickers on appliances are, Energy Star and all that. That never lowered utility bills.
