Go Woke, go Broke. The employees don't deserve it but the suits don't care.
Good they deserve it
Who does? The rank and file workers who have nothing to do with marketing decisions?
@AngryCarl2 they already fired the idiot that came up with the idea

I highly doubt the CEO makes those kinds of decisions (like what social media influencer they associate with is likely done on a marketing level)
I think it's really effed that hundreds will lose their job. I think this is the unintended consequence of america's cancel culture. we think we are helping push the ideological narrative we want meanwhile innocent, hard working americans suffer.
While i was fine with them endorsing that Mulvaney person, if people are going to be fired it should be those that made the decisions first. then higher ups should take pay cuts to cover the losses that they think will be re-couped with these firings
It's a great excuse to dump top heavy corporate office salaries, and Busch is going to take advantage of it. Do the numbers. AB made $31.9 BILLION in profits in 2022. Their stock price is down 12% due to the hilarious boycott going on, which has had very little effect in Europe or around the world. Despite all the brouhaha, it's still the best selling US light beer!
So, if sales reflect stock price, AB will make "only" $29 Billion in 2023. If profits go down 20%, they will make a paltry $25,5 Billion. What will the boycott have accomplished - a few billion less in profits, and how many jobs for people just like yourselves, who actually don't hate everyone LGTBQ+. Who did you REALLY hurt? The company? Investors and stockholders? Or working folks in plants or corporate offices? Congratulations Republicans - just like when you vote for those who take away your freedoms and choices, you acted against your own interests, or working people you may know, once again!
You're not too bright.
The CEO has done nothing wrong, the marketing team fucked up. Sales have dropped and so there isn't as much of a need for that many staff, is all.
But those staff will likely come right back into other roles once all this blows over.
So CEO's are completely in the dark regarding marketing? If you think that employee did what she did without any of the higher ups knowing, then you're the one who isn't too bright.
This is how the boycott was always going to end up. The CEO and management team will continue to draw their inflated salaries while the rank and file workers trying to feed their families pay the price. All for what? Some stupid culture war? If Joe Blow losing his job makes these culture warriors feel better, then so be it I suppose.
Sadly if they can't afford to pay them, they get laid off.
It's just how it is.
You pay them out of your pocket.
If they are to lay anyone off it should be their entire marketing and DEI departments not the working men who brew the beer.
I don’t get it. The CEO resigning instead of laying off employees?
Whoopsie. Hope it was worth it for them.
