Why do republicans wanna defund the police? Why do republicans wanna censor speech on media outlets? Why do republicans have CNN, NBC, ABC, well, let's just say ALL media fighting for them? Why does the intelligence community interfere with presidential and midterm elections, that only helps republicans, and claim it's Russian interference but provide no proof to back it up? Why do republicans hate minorities? When are republicans gonna realize Trump is mentally unfit for office? And my absolute favorite! When are republicans gonna realize Trump is owned by foreign countries? Believe it or not, these were all questions asked in the last month or so. I know some of them are obviously satire, because most people can't be this ignorant but yet, some were genuine, because people are actually this ignorant. If you have any ridiculous questions I missed, feel free to add them to my list.

I do not think you understand what the left is in the context of American politics. Where the right wing is just a handful of factions the left is a huge gathering of people with different beliefs and ideologies.

They are not the same, where as you can make general statements about the right wing, you can't really do that in regards to the left because again, conflicting beliefs. The left is not a monolithic organization like the right wing is.

What does that mean in this context? It means that if you isolate several different beliefs from the left wing then they are not going to make any sense when taken as a whole, because they are the beliefs of several different groups that does not agree with each other.

Once you accept this very simple fact then this question will become very easy to answer. Yes, it would work. This is what politics is; the coming together of different ideologies to work together. It would obviously mean that they would only ever do things they mostly agree upon so all these fringe ideas will be put aside while in government.

But the point here is that you have missed a very obvious and very fundamental aspect of what your opposition even is and quite frankly, there is nothing more republican than missing important insights.
