I mean they say we haven't seen the temperature since 1880 which means they have seen it when there was no fossil fuel effect

Science actually has a lot of ways of measuring atmospheric conditions in the past by extrapolating from geophysical conditions, among other things. They can also trace biological patterns such as changes in average growth rates or shifting habitat zones.

But like, the science behind it all really isn't that difficult to understand. You have a rock in the ground. You burn it and break it into a bunch of tiny pieces, some of which go into the air. Now it's in the air. That's a change.

While the news certainly dramatizes the issue in ways that are honestly less than helpful at times when attempting to consider actually productive changes that can be made, the science is real.

There is solid evidence that human activity is increasing average surface temperatures and increasing sea levels. That doesn't mean every hot day is "because" of climate change, but climate change makes hot temperatures more likely.

However you "or" is really an "and". Climate change is real but it is also political - where people use a real issue to support (sometimes unrelated) political and social agendas.

Same for COVID. Covid was real and there was real danger - but at the same time political parties either exaggerated or minimized the danger for their own purposes.

Yeah, there was a mini Ice Age that ended in 1877 I believe was three years after the mini Ice Age. As usual, it’s just a means of control by the federal government in order to screw us over. It's interesting, but the actual data supporting Climate Change (just like it was for the severity of Covid), is much less conclusive than one would hope.

Which is kind of shocking, when you think about it, because humanity is really obviously damaging the planet (we saw how much improvement happened during the lockdowns when humanity was less busy). For some reason, the hard data doesn't reflect nearly the degree of urgency that we've been told.

Climate change is real and we humans have contributed to it, but Mither Nsture does what it wants... and always wins. We need to learn to deal with climate change, not try to stop it.

Those that try to stop or reverse climate change are playing politics.

The climate changes with our without human interference. According to geologists, the earth has had at least 4 ice ages and has been hotter than this plenty of times before. Sea levels have been higher then this before, too. All of this happened before humans ever existed except the last ice and heat wave.

The earth naturally goes through warming and cooling periods.

Climate change, however is about the pacing between the shifts. I see heat records constantly being set every couple of weeks locally not to mention forest fires that span out months because of changing weather patterns. I dont need to see MSNBC or CNN to believe in climate change - its already at my front door

It exists but not at any rate that matters. Actual pollution like plastics that eventually turn into micro plastics are a much bigger environmental concern in my opinion.
