Are we talking a one shot deal? Because that would turn society completely on it's head. If the earth population of roughly 8 billion was reduced to 1% women that's 80million women. Enough to sustain a population. But does that mean all children would be 1% female? Or was this a one shot deal? If it' the former than over time the genders can normalize. But if it's the latter you see how the lopsidedness will just grow.

Also we are literally talking one percent of the population is female. So women would be controlled by the economical 1%. Sorry ladies you just lost equality and became property again the minute you became a limited resource. Now you have 99% of guys who have hard working jobs and you're not even allowing them to get laid after a hard day's work. Science would really have to get creative and invent female sex robots that are pretty convincing (The best AI you can imagine) or I promise you there's going to be massive revolts.

You omitted an important detail. Do Society A and Society B have the same total number of members?

Society A has approximately 990 females, and 10 males. Society B has approximately 10 females and 990 males.

Each society will be plagues with inbreeding problems in the F2 generation. In society A, assuming equal fertility rates, each male will be the father of 10% of the children in the first generation. If the matings in the next generation occur randomly, approximately 10% of all matings with be with half-siblings. In society B, the same result will obtain because each woman will be the mother of 10% of the population.

So the incest factor is the same in each society. Obviously, 990 women can have more babies than 10 women, so society A has a far better chance of survival.

Many wars have been fought over women but not often started by women. Men are the ones who always have the most foolish pride. We are the greatest danger to ourselves, so there would still be danger in your hypothetical scenario. Then you want to bring A. I. into the mix , let's not open that can of worms.
