Homeowner opinions needed?

My boyfriend and I bought a house.

We did the final walkthrough yesterday and brought his holder sister along.

She property across the street was owned by the same person who owned the house, but we did not buy the property across the street (which has a garage and shed on it.)

Yesterday, my boyfriend’s sister went across the street to look at the shed and came running back pale as a ghost.

The previous owner’s son, a drug addict who was recently charged with attempter murder, was sleeping in the shed with a woman and they were surrounded by buckets of their own shit.

She said “they might be dead but it smells so bad in there I can’t tell.”

My question is, what do we do about this?

We do not own that property and have no right to trespass them, but I am very uncomfortable with the idea of attempted murderer drug addicts shitting in buckets within view of my front door.

The person who owner that piece of property is dead…nobody owns it.

Non emergency police call and ask for a wellness check on that address. Something felt wrong and there was the smell of potential death passing by.

If you can buy the place super cheap and maybe call the cops on the junke neighbor it might work out for you.

I’m just very worried he will try to break in, sabotage our car or even rob us in the meantime.

if it is not your property you have no way to stop a break in. In yout purchase a d sale agreement include some wordage that addresses this.

To simplify it, there is a homeless drug addict who is awaiting trial for attempted murder squatting in an abandoned shed less than 60ft from my front door.

how far into the buying process are you? what's your closing date? if it's still before your closing date get out of the deal while you still can.
