When you buy your house and they require you to work in the same job for 2 years minimum, does it have to be the same job for 2 years or do they mean in that same field?

Example: I’m a CNA getting my LPN and wanting to buy a house when I become an LPN.. since I’ll be in the same field but making better money. Do I have to be at the same job 2 years or the field in general for 2 years?

As a rule of thumb, lenders require two years of employment to qualify for a home loan.
Being with the same employer is a positive, but your work history is just one of several criteria underwriters will check. Your credit score, debt-to-income ratio, and down payment size matter a lot.

A short or erratic work history can attract attention, but it's not an obstacle... if your application is in good shape otherwise.

Same employer but what if I’m with the same employer that I’m a CNA with and change my job title to LPN?
