Yes, nearly EVERY form of "green" energy isn't a complete scam- they're just not in a position to meet ALL of our energy needs. A smart society would have a diverse power grid, using a wide range of power production, so it was able to handle shifts in resource availability and production. (Incidentally, isn't it nice to see the word "diverse" being used and NOT just as a covert excuse for bigotry?).

-Solar's decades of heavy research into recycling (and containment; sulfur hexafluoride stands ready to doom us all) from being more than a novelty, and will never really be more than a minor factor, but it can still HELP.

-Wind is pretty much the same.

-Nuclear's our best bet going forward, at least in the short term: no emissions, high energy density, abundant uranium AND thorium, and theoretically even renewable, if modern enrichment theories pan out. Waste storage IS an issue, but there's no free lunch when it comes to power production. Unfortunately, startup costs are high and front-loaded, and anti-nuclear hysteria runs DEEP.

-Geothermal's both cleaner and safer, and if we were to completely tap the Yellowstone supervolcano, we could meet all of humanity's current energy needs (no, not just power- ENERGY, in total), but that needs specific geological conditions.

-Muscle produces no (direct) emissions, and is indefinitely renewable.

I don't know if nuclear power is a “green” energy or not bc ik it consumes materials (radioactive materials) and produces waste, but I also know that there is practically no pollution being put out, just steam.

Also in my opinion, I see wind and solar power as a joke bc they are very impractical and cannot enough power for the growing world

No, that would be geothermal. Since that requires such specific conditions, though, nuclear's the best bet for widespread use.

I know way more about electricity than the average person. Without fossil fuels or nuclear, we're fucked.

If you want to harness the sun, use water bladders, and not solar panels. Solar panels are a complete joke. Create a system where the bladders are filled with water. Let the sun bake that water and make it warm. Then funnel it through your hot water tank. It will take very little energy to get the water up to shower temp, and it won't cost you an arm and a leg.

I have a 12" X 12" solar panel. Under optimal solar conditions, I can almost light a single LED Christmas bulb.

Don't get me started on how smart whales are. Go to Sea World and find out. They are way smarter than Joey.

With the technology we have today, nuclear is the only viable "green" option for energy in a country even a fraction the size of the US. Anyone who dismisses nuclear is either a grifter or an idealistic idiot.

So far. Most Green Energy projects produce tremendous amounts of pollution and destruction of the planet to produce. Then the “Planet Savers” are willing to admit.
I agree that better energy sources is a good idea. But this is not possible over night!
So far. Not many people are considering the recycling or repurposing of the green energy cast off materials after their service life is done.
