In the 200+ year history of the United States, only 15 Vice Presidents have become President, and 4 of those only served out their term on the death or resignation of the previous President.

Of the remaining 11 VPs, 9 of them won only one election to the Presidency. They either failed in their re-election attempt or didn't even try for re-election.

Who were the 2 VPs that were elected, and re-elected to the Presidency?

Thomas Jefferson (200+ years ago) and Richard Nixon (60 years ago) ... Neither was a Democrat.

In 2024, Joe Biden might be trying to make history to become the only Democratic party Vice President to be elected to the Presidency twice.

@msc545 I have to believe that official government statistics are at least partially based in fact. The Border Patrol figure for example purposely do not include the gate where the illegals that apply to get in on the internet go through. That figure us not released but I imagine it is a considerable number. Meanwhile even without counting that gate and all the gotaways that sneak in undetected there are still record numbers coming into the country. Thete is still enough data to make an informed decision.

I would think that yhjr Biden administration wants the public to think there is no crisis at the border so they under report the number of encounters. Even when under reporting there is still record numbers of crossings.

You know instead of arguing here about this issue, maybe what you should do is simply come to Southern California or Arizona or Texas and have a look for yourself. It doesn't matter what the border patrol says when they're a very few people actually crossing the border. You keep portraying this as if there were hordes of illegal Mexicans running across the border. I can stand there and watch for an hour or two and maybe see one or two people. What I see doesn't match up with what the border patrol says in their official documents and I trust my eyes a lot more than I trust what the border patrol or any federal agency says.

Besides everything being twice as expensive and anyone that has a retirement account has seen it take a major beating there is the crime and the supply chain issues. Things that you never had to think about are all of a sudden a serious problem. Even getting medical care becomes a problem.
Even the feelings of hopelessness among citizens is widely reported. I read the obits every day and if there is somebody who died that is around 50 , chances are it is a suicide. Everybody is on meds for depression. It has gotten much worse over the last few years. Covid is partially responsible but the response to covid was a contributing factor to the demise of the country.
As bad as 2020 was with the pandemic, it now seems like the good old days.

@msc545 Biden reversed all the policies that Trump implemented at the southern border. Trump had the most secure border in decades. The flood of fentanyl that has come into this country is just staggering. This mess is 100% the fault of Biden.
On Day1 Biden declared war on domestic energy production. He cancelled the Keystone pipeline, eliminating thousands of good paying jobs. The price of oil shot up practically the day after inauguration day on speculation that it would soon be much worse. As soon as energy costs begin the skyrocket, the price of everything else has to rise too because all goods and services depend on energy in some form. Biden owns that mess as well.
How come inflation was 1.4% while Trump was president? It was because energy prices were the lowest they had been in many years. Yesterday Biden bragged that he got inflation "down" to just 3%. I guess that is better than the 9% that it was a year ago.
