Tulsi Gabbard was a guest on the Joe Rogan Experience and stated that the people of Maui have had almost no government assistance since the fire. Additionally anyone attempting to bring in supplies by sea were blocked because authorities said they were trying to secure the area.

According to Gabbard a few days after the fire, the Governor of Hawaii stated in an interview that he is working with the Attorney General to explore options for the state to take over the land to use to build work force housing and/or possibly a memorial.

Does anyone else find this concerning? #1. Why has food and supplies not been provided for the victims? There are 3 massive military bases in Hawaii at Pearl Harbor, Hickam Field (Hickam AFB) and the Schofiled Barracks. Not to mention any FEMA resources that should be in bound. Why has there been almost no government assistance on any level? #2 Does anyone else think this looks like a land grab? Why would the governor be stating that he’s looking for the state to take over that land? Land that is owned by the victims.

People talk about Russia being an oligarchy but the us is every bit an oligarchy headed in the same direction.

A Maui land grab would be very much like the california water heist or gentrification. Oligarchs see property in the hands of working and middle class people, property in hawaii no less. So making sure people don't or can't return to their homes is a necessity. So they will use the disaster to make sure people leave by holding back relief, buying up politicians and officials, bankrupting home insurance companies, shutting down businesses etc and they've many tools to do this.

You may think you are safe because through your own hard work you've a good paying career, own your own home, a pension, savings in the bank, share& bonds, crypto, health insurance, health insurance, a business like many ordinary folks do but to greedy oligarchs this is a pot money you have that they want to get their hands on and they've many tactics and tools to legally steal it from you.

Think about all we've seen in the last few years. All the money is being moved up to the top, always the case but now they've gotten greedier. Well, I'll read the rest eventually, but for a start: do you understand the word "rescue"? You retrieve dead bodies, you rescue live ones.

If you can't feed a family for less than $35 a day, you're pretty useless. A kilo of potatoes costs less than $4. A dozen eggs is $9. Add in a few onions and some milk and you've got meals for at least a couple of days. You're in a disaster zone, you make do and help each other.

I am personally attesting to having participated in delivering literally several tuns worth of humanitarian aid, to include many, many pallets of MRE’s and medical supplies, which we personally guarded from organized crime looking to steal them and sell them on the the black market.

I know for fact they had tuns of these supplies ready to go and we delivered them by sea in a non combat amphibious operation. Am I supposed to believe between 3 military bases in Hawaii (I’ve personally been to all 3) with all 5 branches of the service present that they did not have and could not supply those people from Hawaii? BS! The military keeps stockpiles of stuff for both war and humanitarian operations. But apparently they could not get that stuff to those people. Only do search and rescue I. e. find the dead.

No, but we had to sail to Indonesia. Oahu is not far from Maui. We got there within a month, it wasn’t a natural disaster, but rather a civil war.

Also, yes, it was very cool to get to be a part of that operation and I was awarded a Humanitarian Service Medal for my participation. Which is also cool. It felt good to help those people because they were literally starving.

I was a Corporal. E-4. A noncommissioned officer. Yes, way down the rank structure. However my point in bringing it up is that I personally got to be a part of an operation of that nature, so I am quite aware of the logistics involved, the supplies needed and I also know they lots of the types of supplies needed on in the 3 bases in Hawaii.

I also got to play a direct roll in Operation Southern Watch under Clinton and flew into hostile Iraqi air space, and Operation Safe Departure, also under Clinton which was the evacuation of our embassy in Eritrea, Africa, which was strafed by the Ethiopians while we were there.

I only mention these things to demonstrate that I do in fact have direct understanding of what the military is capable of in such a situation. In each of those 3 operations the ships we deployed on were loaded with excess food and medical supplies should we need to immediately assist in a humanitarian operation or immediately deploy to combat. We had more than enough to sustain around 2500 Marines in country for at least a month. That doesn’t even count munitions.
