I'm not American, nor would I fit into any of the Democrat or Republican moulds if I was. That said this is just my observation.

I believe that Republicans' values are to keep things as traditional as possible (even though oddly enough many of them lack this themselves with their many divorces and teen pregnancies -- including their own politicians).

But they like the idea of an old-style America where the men are traditionally working, the women are supportive too in their own way (whether working or happily being domestic), and the children are good and pure. They are also proudly Christian, and think that the bible has all the answers.

With that said, there are problems with the bible as most of us know, but they have built a life on standing by it, that they can't admit there are flaws in their religion, or admit that people in the world are happily different from them.

When I see some average Republican, they have a belief of "if it ain't broke don't fix it". They enjoyed how America was before. I presume a lot of it was a bit utopian, pre-civil rights movement. But underneath a lot of that were people having thought of or willing to commit suicide for feeling different, such as homosexuals. As long as people were quiet, the majority felt peace.

Since then, we've evolved to know that there are many types of people, who are not ashamed to say who they really are, or what they really feel. This is upsetting to a lot of Republicans, who wish they would just quietly go back to being closeted, and not express their true selves so publicly.

The problem with being quiet and closeted is lack of reform or the expectation that one is just like everyone else and should be treated in a way that is not fair to them. They not only don't agree with this, but worse, don't understand it or are willing to understand it.

Since transgenderism has become so newsworthy, imagine how upsetting this is to a Sunday-dinner-eating, church-going, truck-and-trailer-driving type of family who only sees things one way. They've already been so sexually oppressed thanks to their religion, so anything beyond man/woman missionary-style sex is dirty and kinky, and upsets their god. They put more emphasis on what is a real penis or a fake one, and fear that with so much of it in the news that it's become some social epidemic!

Fact: less than 5% of the population identifies as transgender. That doesn't even mean they've gone ahead and undergone treatment or surgery. They identify, meaning it is both those who receive treatment and those who have not. Hardly something to get excited about. Since most people do not identify as transgender and will not be hitting on an unwilling partner against transgenderism, transphobes really have nothing to worry about themselves.

So their time and energy into fussing about transgenderism is wasted. If their issue is with children, so be it. I do agree that children should be spared from having to worry about such matters and just let them just be kids and figure things out on their own. Otherwise, personally, I think their efforts to hate and dictate what others should do is fruitless. They are free to live their lives how they like, no one is stopping them. They should give others the same courtesy.

Because it makes no sense. If you won't tell an anorexic that they are fat, then you shouldn't tell someone who has gender dysphoria that they are actually the opposite sex trapped inside the sex they were born as. How would affirmation help them?

There has to be a better way to treat it than these transition surgeries but I am not supposed to question these transitions because "the science is settled". Nobody wants to offend the Great Fauci would they?
