I work at this pizza franchise and this coworker was really mean to this girl who struggling right now. She has no food and really struggling after her husband murder. The manager let her take 6 boxes of fresh pizza home since the order was messed up for a customer. This employee name (Sam) had told her that the boxes of pizza was for the store. She seen another employee (Darius) eat a piece of pizza and asked him “where did you get that from” (Sam) told her “you can’t do that, you can’t just take the pizzas from everyone else” the employee (Sam) made another 3 boxes of pizza for other employees to eat and hid it in another room. they didn’t even attempt to finish the first box of pizza out of 3 boxes made. coworkers got pissed at him. The girl asked a simple question and she was lectured by Sam. Who was wrong or right? The manager gave her the food to take home. She just started with us and our company has a program that’s helping her

Speaking as a company man and a stockholder. When you allow employees to take home food, even messed up orders you're giving the opportunity to employees to exploit your good nature. Some will deliberately f*** orders up just so they can take them home. So to allow them to take them home for ANY reason is a bad policy to start.

Now having said that let's look st things realistically. Theft is just a reality of business and if the POLICY no free food and the manager is allowing them to take home food against policy it's still theft the manager is just complicit in it.

But as said, realistically speaking theft is a part of the business. Companies like this know what they pay their employees as well as the quality of worker overall they hire (no offense, I'm not calling you a bad worker. Just the average pizza worker is not highly skilled and very replaceable). They know they're going to get a certain amount of theft. They even figure this into thier projections. And generally speaking. The product is so cheap this is not a big worry for them. I know back in the day when I used to work at a pizza joint. 1 slice of pizza sold paid for the entire pizza. Everything after that was pure profit. So to lose 6 pizzas to theft is like a company losing 6 slices. Not a big deal really.

While I think a company would be concerned with company policy (so they'd support Sam). I think if this ever got media attention they'd rather this lady get the free pizza. The loss is a drop in the bucket compared to bad press they could recieve through public opinion.

My final take on this is. SAM needs to find a hobby. Right or wrong the manager made his/her decision and will deal with potential fallout. All of this s*** in the larger picture is small potatoes, a non issue. As a Christian I say give her the pizza and tell Sam to STFU.😆

Your manager is a totally cool human being. Sam is a fucking heartless dick. He's the one who should starve.

This story about your boss and the program to help the girl made me really happy. I imagine what that kindness means to that girl.

I've seen how acts of kindness can change a person's life. You have no idea what they are going through and how hopeless they feel until you see how grateful they are. I find those kinds of things deeply moving.

Here's one incident that moved me so much that I wrote a MyTake about it. The officer was a true human being and helped a lady who was truly in need.

It’s a noble gesture but honestly, 6 boxes of pizza? Unless the pizza’s are really small I think 6 boxes is a bit excessive.






3 is a good amount, it still sends the same message to the poor girl that her manager cares but at the same time isn’t just throwing away profits to a pretty significant amount

Yeah it was a family order and all 6 orders got messed up so she told her to write her name on the orders so nobody would eat them but it was just us 3 there tonight. They mess up a lot of orders and it has to get thrown away because it isn’t eaten or it’s burnt

Cause when I was living with my parents they would order 3 large pizzas at the most. And it’s for 5 of us, given she is a widowed mother it’s just her and the kids

We work at papa johns as well and the pizzas were suppose to be mediums and they made large. Plus the toppings were wrong. Her husband was killed before they made kids or had a chance. A lot of officers know her here and many others. So they tip her at the register as well.

She has no food in her fridge and she eat whatever she can. It’s the large bills that’s eating her bank account up. of course she not gonna eat 6 pizzas in one day lol it’s just food
