What do you think of people who want to force men to use women's bathrooms?

They often claim to be "protecting women," and that they DONT want men in women's spaces.

Yet the rules they want to enforce—making it illegal to use the restroom that doesn't match your sex assigned at birth—would force trans MEN into women's spaces.

Even if they're post-op and years into transition, with full beards, deep voices, and muscular. They would have to use the women's room according to these rules that "protect" women's spaces.

And even when those people claim that the rule isn't against trans people, but against men who would "pretend to be trans" to get into women's space. Wouldn't it be much easier for a man to pretend to be a trans MAN, which he doesn't even have to dress up to look like, to sneak into the women's room? (And if a man really wants to sneak in, it's not as if the rules will stop him anyway!)

We are going through a bit of an upheaval in the UK too all new buildings have to have a toilet for trans people which can in some cases replace the ladies toilet.
Reasoning is the can easily convert a ladies because there is no need for urinals and they want to make the cubical's self contained so women can still have "a space for themselves"

Now I'm of the mind that if it looks like a duck, walks like a duck and quacks like a duck then it's a duck.
Problem is a man can identify as a woman but look and have the imposing figure of a man so is allowed to go into the ladies toilet unapposed out of fear of being labeled as transphobic and true genetic women have to put up with the intimidation.
However it's easier for a trans male to pass off as a skinny or short male and not intimidate genetic males.

So the issue really is what toilet facilities do we really need so genetic women have a safe place, men still have there urinals and trans people don't feel they are being forced they and other people are being intimidated by them or they feel intimidated!

I really don't see anything wrong with communal bathrooms with both sexes in there at the same time! And the single restroom is usually set aside for parents with small kids or disabled people. Why would a trans person use that set aside room when there are stalls open in the regular toilets, and there may be another person who actually needs the special room? Unless of course the trans person is also disabled or a parent, in which case yeah that makes sense.

Those are the people who would be forced to use women's restrooms if trans people were forced to use the restrooms of their sex assigned at birth. Then if a man who actually has bad intentions wants to sneak in, he doesn't have to disguise himself at all to get into the women's room. I'm sure you understand how having actual men in women's restrooms would be more intimidating than having trans women in women's restrooms, who actually try to look like women, and who are themselves far more likely to be assaulted in restrooms than cis women are.

You can have your sex legally changed on your ID, and as I said before some people have been transitioning for years and look very much like cis people of their gender. There's nothing to "figure out." All that guards will be able to do is make anyone who doesn't look stereotypical enough like their gender to use the handicap room, which will make it so actual handicap people now don't have a room of their own. And it will still have some heterogender people allowed into their correct gender restroom, as long as they look stereotypically like their gender. And it will more often than not just make homogender people (the ones you're so worried about "protecting") be not allowed in their correct gender restroom, just because they don't look stereotypically of their gender.

And that's exactly why I asked how they'd do it in the first place. That was your opportunity to propose some way that would actually work to accomplish your goal. But instead you just said "they'll figure something out," as if there's any easy way to verify 100% of people use the restroom of their assigned gender at birth. You can't can't go by birth certificates, so there's no point in forcing everyone to carry their birth certificate around if they want to use the public bathroom either. You can get your gender changed on your birth certificate too. Literally it would just come down to who some random guard thinks "looks" heterogender. And as I said already, that's not an accurate measure.

I used that talk to try and make it even clearer to you that forcing trans people and only trans people to use the wrong bathroom is simply not possible. It doesn't matter what you think they are. There are trans men who are legally men and have dicks. You'd be forcing men with dicks into women's bathrooms, and making it so any man with a dick could just say he's trans and be let in the women's bathroom—because there's no way to tell if he's lying or not unless you do a fucking DNA test to use the public restroom, and that's definitely a breach of privacy and hippa. And the same with trans women, you'd have no way to tell legally or genetically, because trans women can also get their gender changed legally and have corrective surgeries. So either some trans women would still be allowed to use the women's restroom, and some trans men would still be allowed to use the men's restroom, because they are legally that gender. Or you'd base it purely on appearance (obviously with clothes on), and that way you'd still have some trans men use the men's room and some trans women use the women's room, but you'd ALSO have some cis women have to use the men's room and some cis men have to use the women's room, because the guard isn't fucking psychic they're just guessing. So again, it doesn't matter what you think of trans people. Trying to force them to use the wrong bathroom is not feasible, and causes more harm than "good" either way.
