Not a fan - and I am from his party. Three metrics are useful in measuring where Mr. Trump stands.

The President has three constitutional roles: Commander-in-chief of the armed forces, Executive Head of Government, and Head of State.

As regards the first, Mr. Trump was not really been tested in this realm, other than perhaps in Syria where there was no real strategic threat. About the most that can be said is that, in intervening, the President has left hostages to fortune.

As Head of Government, Mr. Trump was weak and chaotic. In terms of the Congress he was not effective in getting legislation through - with only one major bill to his credit. (Note: The two most effective Presidents in the post-FDR era in this category were Johnson as the most effective, followed by Reagan. Trump is down toward the lower end - Obama, Carter and Ford in last place.)

In terms of his management of the government, Mr. Trump failed to propose a raft of nominees for various offices, and his policy and communications process were chaotic. In foreign policy he proved, it must be said, to be somewhat more effective.

As Head of State, that is in his symbolic and ceremonial functions and bringing the country together, Mr. Trump was a disaster. Reagan was, by far, the best at this since FDR if not before, and Trump has proven to be the anti-Reagan.

Like Trump, Reagan's policies were controversial in his time, but his personality and his gift for speeches and other factors made him popular and calmed the nation. That has not been the Trump experience and he has been his own worst enemy.

The irony is that - unsavory figures, petty corruption, sex scandals - Mr. Trump resembles no one so much as the husband of the woman he defeated. We had a referendum in the 1990s on such things - in the form of an impeachment of President Bill Clinton - and unsavory figures, petty corruption and sex scandals won. Former President Clinton has every characteristic of Mr. Trump - save perhaps being more charming - and yet the public smiled benignly on "Slick Willie" and thought him a lovable rogue.

To this can be added Trump's aforementioned knack for pouring salt in the social wounds. As no less than MSNBC liberal commentator and former Tip O'Neil staffer Chris Matthews noted, President Obama, for all his alleged gifts, lacked the ability to bring people together. It is why he was so ineffective in Congress.

So straight out, two of the nation's most recent Presidents share breathtakingly similar personal and political qualities to the previous occupant of the WH. For those offended by Mr. Trump, we've been here before.

For that matter, in terms of policy, if you put aside his instincts for protectionism, which has made him rather popular with "rank and file" labor union members, and his stand on immigration - which historically contradicts Reagan's stand - but which actually divides the GOP, Mr. Trump's policies are pretty much in the mainstream. He did not touch entitlement spending, government generally was where it was under Mr. Obama, save for an increase in defense spending, and tax cuts are standard GOP fare.

The truth is the nation reaped what it sewed. So in the next election it went to a bland and formless figure who is perhaps too old for the job. As someone once said, the nation "forgets nothing and learns nothing."

The Anarchist Case For Donald Trump:
    https://www.bitchute.com/video/QFYlVI6RleGG/

And the original anarchist, British punk rocker turned US Citizen, John "Johnny Rotten" Lydon:

    https://faroutmagazine.co.uk/john-lydon-calls-donald-trump-the-sex-pistols-of-politics/

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_Lydon#American_politics

"This is where my love for [Donald] Trump comes from, he was not a politician at all in any typical way. And he threw an anarchistic spanner in the works and shook them all up... even his own Republican Party! The Sex Pistols of politics, yeah! Fantastic, fantastic! And, oddly enough, and it has to be said: he did wonders for this country. Unemployment down, fucking no wars, wow. Wage earnings (increased for the working class) became a serious possibility, fantastic... And yet that is not wanted by the institutionalism of the Democrat Party, who are now kind of sadly running this country into shit. I don’t mean to be partisan, but I have to be accurate though”
    (...)
"(the Left is now) Death by committee, trying to slam your dictates into another person’s face. That’s not healthy.”

    (...)

"What I dislike is the left-wing media in America are trying to smear the bloke as a racist and that's completely not true."[101] He elaborated to NPR: "He's a total cat amongst the pigeons!!! [He's] got everybody (working class) now involving themselves in a political way. And I've been struggling for years to get (working class) people to wake up and do that."

    Enough said.

@exitseven For what it's worth, I don't hate you, I hate the people who've lied to you and convinced you up is down and down is up. I just try to inform you, although, I admit, I have resorted to insults when really frustrated, for which I apologise.

@goaded Yes, we have laws for a reason. Ignoring the ones we don't agree with is anarchy. We do not have the responsibility to solve everyone else's problem at the expense of our own people.

@exitseven You do know that Trump is openly encouraging Republican lawmakers to shut down the government in the mistaken belief that it will stop the prosecutions against him ("and other Patriots", by which he means insurrectionists, thereby giving them aid and comfort)?

It seems he's going for a Gish Gallop of crimes in the hope nobody will be able to prosecute them all without overloading the whole DoJ. Once he's committed more crimes than there are judges, he's home free!

@goaded that is not why he is doing it. His has a philosophy of dealing from strength and in this negotiation the House is holding all the cards. They should not give away the store line they did last time

More so than any other candidate even though I'm not a worshiper by any means.

The fact that Democrats, the deep state agencies, corporate media, most elites, and those with a globalist agenda hate him is a powerful testimonial in his favor.

I do. He's by no means perfect but he was the best we have had in the 21st century.

Now, the bar is very low, there has been plenty that he has done that violated people's rights, but the times he did that couldn't hold a candle to the times the rest of the presidents we have had did.

Under normal circumstances, the people wouldn't tolerate any violations whatsoever but we became complacent and Trump seemed to be the symbol of the people reawakening against the abuses of the state.

That's why they try so hard to incarcerate him over things that aren't actually crimes, crimes that politicians commit every day, or over things that they have no proof that he was behind. They want to make an example of those who stand up to the tyranny.

I supported Biden for 2020 and look what he did to the country. High gas prices, high cost of food, the economy is poor, no jobs for young people, young people can't get any student tuition for student loans, this country is falling apart, but I will never vote again thanks to Joe Biden I will step out for a very long time, and I'm sorry, but this is not Donald Trump's fault this is Joe Biden and yes impeach him because America deserves better and shame on Kamala Harris for not stepping down. xoxo

Yes, he was the best president in modern times. He is ahead in all the polls and it looks like Biden has a good chance of being impeached. I hope he gets re eleccted. We need to finish the job.

i don't "support" him exactly. but he's still the better choice for america, if biden is the alternative. yes he's a criminal but so is biden and trumps decisions have not lead to an economical crysis more severe than the great depression.

Nah. I really dislike American politics. y'all are dirty.

However, the fact is when Trump was in office Russia didn't do anything. No wars. China was giving us the biggest movie openings. North Korea had a friend but as soon as he left office. Everything changed for the worse

There is a good amount of people here who do. Personally, I'm still holding put hope (perhaps in vain though) that Ron Desantis' campaign will turn things around, but I doubt it. If Trump gets the nomination, I'll support him.
