Trump invited the Clemson Tigers football team to the white house. There was no cooking staff, so the Don sprang for the feast out of his own pocket. He bought 1,000 hamburgers and fries. To be fair, Don divided it up between McDonald's, Burger King and Wendy's. The left wing media bitched about it. lol

Not much of anything, it's happened before.
It becomes a political issue instead of doing what's best for the country.
It gets patched up, nothing ever gets permanently fixed and at some point we will be right back to where we are now.

It's not going to shut down -- this is all basically just a dog and pony show, to create the impression that any of the parties involved are even remotely concerned or worried about the situation whatsoever.

Some non-essential employees will be selectively laid off. The government will pick those that harm citizens the most. Like park rangers. Insider bureaucrats will be protected.

Seems to me that happened a number of years ago and nothing came of it. It was no worse than the Y2K scare or climate change/global warming/cooling.

Pay will be temporarily suspended for some government employees. This will amount to a paid vacation for them.
