Many of us have lived through maybe a dozen of these shutdowns. It's no wonder we forgot because they are so innocuous as to be completely unnoticed.

What they do accomplish though is to call attention to the administrative bloat in government. Supposedly "only" the "non-essential" workers are furloughed during a "shut down" (and don't grieve for them they always end up receiving back pay and they got an extra free vacation on the taxpayer.)

It begs the question:

There are about 750,000 of these "non-essential" workers on the US federal government's payroll. THREE QUARTERS OF A MILLION non-essential workers alone!

If they are non-essential, why do the taxpayers have to pay their salaries in the first place?

President Trump seems to get this and is the only one attempting to do something about the never-ending, out of control administrative bloat.

If a private company was run this way it would have been bankrupt 100 years ago. Instead it is bankrupting the American taxpayer.
