If that happens it won't just be hurting a segment of the population it'll start to hurt the larger population. As GDP will dip it'll starting hurting markets and increasing unemployment. In short, if Trump is pulling a standoff and the democrats don't blink. He's going to have to blink at some point without it hurting his presidency.
