I believe America has many ethnicities. As for culture America has a very distinct American culture and every state& city seems to have a culture distinct from each other. My view of America as a foreigner is that the US is very much like Europe in that its states are like the countries of Europe except everyone speaks English.

Generally everyone in Europe speaks a 2nd language either French, English or German. Most of the older generation of Eastern Europeans that would have attended school b4 1990 speak Russian and can converse with each other through Russian, I think now the younger generation speaks German
